  My wife and I stayed here during the bank holiday weekend as her son was getting married. We found the staff very friendly but the pub is very tired in respect of decoration inside and out. Considering the owner is Chris Evans and how much he earns we were very disappointed in the price of the place and what it has to offer. We would not recommend this place as good value for money it cost us to stay there but would just add his staff are incredible.

  A small B&B, but rooms well decorated and comfortable. Essentially Chris Evans themed ..so be wary of that I guess. 'Big Breakfast' option? Check. 'TFI Pie Days'? Yep.
  
  If you didn't know he was an owner you'd think you'd wandered into a perverse stalker's lair (albeit one that has a penchant for tasteful interior decoration - not counting the Chris and Gazza framed photo in the bar).
  
  My wife and I ordered the salmon eggs Benedict - one of the two main breakfast options, and got served the bacon despite literally being the only two people sat for breakfast. The hollandaise was not right and off putting also.
  
  Ultimately lets itself down, and to be honest I was kinda gutted they didn't pipe in Ocean Colour Scene whilst being walked to our room.

  We came here to a pre booked table for two on a Tuesday lunch time in late Autumn. Hence it wasn't at all busy and my review may well be influenced by that.
  
  The place itself seemed warm, bright and welcoming. I don't agree with those reviews suggesting the interior is tired. It seems to have been done out in a sympathetically modern way for an older building. Quite trendy in its own way.
  
  There were only two staff working and they were both great and very attentive but gave us space to chat too. It was probably the right number of staff given the number of people in the pub. Service was good.
  
  The food was great. Well presented dishes that are reasonably priced in today's market and plenty enough food. We had two courses, main and dessert and all 4 of those we had (2 each) were lovely.
  
  I would recommend based upon my one experience and would head back here again.
